At present, the ratio of the ages of Maya and Chaya is 6 : 5 and fifteen year from now, the ratio will get changed. to 9 : 8 . Maya,'s present age is

Let  Maya's  present   age   is   6  X   years

Then   Chaya's   present   age  will  be   5  X  years

 According  to  question



(6 X  + 15)/ (5 X  +  15)  =  9 /8  or  (6 X  + 15) x 8 = (5 X  +  15) x 9

48 X  + 120  =  45 X  +  135  or  3 X  = 15  or  X =  5

Maya's   present  age  =  6  x  5  =  30   years

Chhaya's  present  age  =   5 x  5  =  25  years

    It can be solved virbally within 10-15 seconds for finding present ageof Maya by trying different multiples of 6 and adding with 15 and it should be divided by 9 i.e. 6×5+15=45is also divisible by 9 so, Maya's present age is 30 years
